You must learn the implications of the laws & regulations in Colombia and the USA, plus all the regulatory and compliance requirements needed from a tech perspective.
Responsibilities
As a VP of Engineering you'll need to create a vision and a purpose for why people are doing what they do. You'll inspire them to be more connected *and* excited about their work.
Increase the productivity of the engineering team.
You will be able to help the company open new product teams by setting up the team members responsibilities, development process and how that new product feeds our flywheel.
You will set up robust recruiting programs to get the greatest people and build brand awareness.
Support, coach, and develop 10 to 100 high-performing engineers' continuous feedback and strong relationships with team leads.
You will work with the leadership team to ensure that we are all aligned towards the same goal.
You will attend weekly leadership meetings, share updates in all-minds meetings and educate the team to enable innovative ideas to flourish.

Team structure
The VP of engineering will be in charge of the organization's engineering strategy and roadmap. He/she will lead all engineering efforts in the company. This role will grow and develop our engineering talent and build inclusive, high-performing interdisciplinary teams. You will have the responsibility to create a team-based culture that motivates an extreme, almost fanatical work ethic — especially in our early days.
You will report to the Co-founders of Valiu (CEO and CPO) and will be responsible for day-to-day software delivery, working with the product team to ensure that what we commit to gets done. You will push our team to constantly expand our ability to deliver and build a great engineering culture. Your focus will be on helping each of the engineers with their personal and professional development, listening & guiding them through hard times, **and** celebrating their successes.
